Please see below info from SSE regarding HGV lorries travelling through the Strath to carry out B862 overlying works.
Please note that the Stratherrick & Foyers Community Council was NOT consulted on this change to the planning consent.
“To allow us to ensure the overlay work is carried out to the highest standards and in the most efficient way, last week we sought special dispensation from the Highland Council to allow only the HGV overlay material lorries to use the B862/B851 for the duration of the overlay works, which is expected to last up to seven days.
The Highland Council have stated that they consider it ‘reasonable and acceptable’ to allow only these specific HGV movements on the B851/B862 to deliver this road mitigation provided that they are scheduled to avoid the school opening and closing times at Farr Primary School and Stratherrick Primary School.
As such, we will be going ahead with the works which are expected to commence on Thursday 27 April. We anticipate approximately 75 lorry loads will be required to be brought to the site to complete the works over the course of around seven days. Work will not be carried out on the Sunday so it is hoped the works would finish on Thursday 4 May.”
